Based on texts by Alexander Vampilov

"The House with Windows..." - is the directorial debut of RGISI graduate Irina Mikhailenko. In her work she combines fragments of Alexander Vampilov's plays "The House with Windows in the Field", "Last Summer in Chulimsk" and "Duck Hunt" with excerpts from Vampilov's diaries and working notes. However, Irina Mikhailenko's play is not about Vampilov, it is not a romanticized biography, it is an independent story based on observations of the evolution of Vampilov's dramaturgical hero.
It centers on two people: a young writer and his wife. The writer who is agonizingly searching for his theme, his style and his lyrical alter ego, and his life partner who simply loves him and wants him to be happy. An artist who processes every moment of his life - and the lives of those around him, without exception - into a text, and his girlfriend, who fuels his creative pathos with her thoughts, her feelings, her life to the last limit. A man who desperately wants to be something more than he is, and a woman who sacrifices her identity for his worthiness. She leaves him to keep his child - not needed by him, but needed by her, a part of him, a part of their shared happiness. And it is only at the moment when the door closes behind her that he realizes what it is he has lost - and writes his best text, about eternity, about himself and her - and it is also part of their joint happiness.
