A comedy in two acts based on the play "Khanuma"
A rich merchant from Tiflis dreams of having his family marry into the aristocracy, to which end he plans to marry off his beautiful daughter Sona to the old Prince Pantiashvili. The Prince in his turn wants to fix his depressing financial situation by means of this marriage. The girl is in despair, for she loves Kote, the Prince’s nephew. The young lovers turn to Khanuma, a matchmaker famous in Avlabar, for help, since nothing is impossible for her…

The show’s cast is made up of Grigory Kozlov’s graduates from 2005 and 2010 and was staged by Aleksandr Kladko, who graduated from Kozlov’s directing course in 2001. In this manner, Our Avlabar is also a meeting of three theatrical generations raised by one master.
